Aliya’s Approach

Yoga is an ancient body of knowledge for health and wellness.

Yoga is the science of understanding remarkable functions of a human body and it encapsulates the wisdom to explore one’s potentialities of expansive consciousness, as a micro-cosmic being.

Each day a human system changes its condition; from weak as an infant to stronger youth & from youth it moves into becoming weaker and weaker each day. Since this does not happen in one day, we exponentially help the process of decay and weakening by wrong knowledge and reckless mundane lifestyles. Our bodies are like a chariot and just like we need the right knowledge and skill to drive chariot, the same goes for the bodies that our soul abodes for finite period. Only this particular thought, if realized fully, one will foster a different approach to treating our bodies. However, we continue to stay disconnected to our bodies and the process of creation of life.

Holistic Approach

Human mechanism has intricate and complex functions at both physical and mental levels – the being – the merger of the two while maintaining their intrinsic functions has been the subject of yoga.

At physical level, the manifestations are the anatomical mechanism and best understood through postural program of yoga.

At the mental level, the manifestation is the mind and its modifications, which has the capacity to exist, beyond time and space. Programming and re-programming the mind through meditative practices increases capacity of cognition and attainment of supernormal (“Siddhis”).

Besides these two there are other subtle bodies – the vital energy (pranic) bodies. This complex existence requires a holistic approach towards practicing yoga. Yoga as the word means “process of joining” – thus uniting our being with the totality of existence.

“Yoga is the cessation of the modifications of the mind”- Pantjali (I.2)

Yoga is a transformational path. You will find a embark on a journey, not like hermits but like a luminous soul grounded in families, cities and urban life. My approach is to sensitize the students on:
  • The fundamentals of correct breathing, that effects the mind and body;
  • Establish physical balance, strength and resilience;
  • Explanation of the anatomical aspects and concepts, such as the sukha and dukha (good and bad space);
  • Demystify the subtle energies (chakras) and bandhas (locks and understand the intricate link of physical with the energy body;
  • The transformational knowledge held by the ancient yogis on mastery of mind; you will mindfully engage your individual potentiality for a truly transformative practice.
  • Learn and practice different types of meditation for self-discovery;
  • Key yogic lifestyle guidelines and hindrances or weak human tendencies (Kleshas); that requires internal and external cleansing;
  • The knowledge of primary qualities of nature (the Gunas) to harness incomparable joy at your will.
